Medical Services Plan of BC

All BC residents are required to register and are asked to pay a monthly premium. If your income is low and you are a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant (permanent resident) who has held that status or lived in Canada for the last 12 months, you may be eligible to receive assistance with premium payments or a premium waiver. If you are 65 or over and enrolled in MSP you will automatically receive a Gold Care Card. Your Gold Care Card is useful as proof of age and residence for discounts offered by certain government programs and many businesses.
