Community Support Programs

Our services assist older adults to remain independent in their homes for as long as possible. These programs include: Caregiver Outreach and Education, Information and Referral, Volunteer Programs, South Surrey/White Rock Better at Home Program, Social group programs, Neighbor Network Program and Community meal programs and dinners. All programs are sensitive to cultural and diverse needs of our clients. Language assistance can be arranged.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00am – 4:00pm.

• Seniors Information and Referral Line
This service provides up to date information connecting you to community services. This information will link you to organizations, health professionals and businesses.

• Seniors Resource Directory
This large print directory has information in specific areas providing easy access and helpful information about local organizations and businesses. Call our office to enquire about submitting information for our next publication or to acquire copies.

• Caregiver Outreach & Education
Supports we offer: Direct Support for Individuals and Families, Educational Sessions, Caregiver Workshops, Support Groups, Outreach to Various Groups & Organizations within the Community, Referrals and Information about Community & Health Care Service

• Community Lunches
Our Meal Programs in Surrey and White Rock offers older adults a community lunch to enjoy a hot nutritious meal in a group setting and at some venues, entertainment as well. The Meal Program provides the opportunity for seniors to meet new friends and to engage in socialization!

• Health and Wellness Fairs
Community Support Services attend several Health and Wellness Fairs help to promote our services and provide information about other community services.

• Free Information & Education Sessions
These sessions are held all year long focusing on senior’s issues and interests. We offer a wide spectrum of topics such as tax preparation/information, caregiver education, dementia information, fall prevention, medication safety, health and well-being tips as well as current issues of the day.

• Senior Service Connectors
Offers resources and referrals for seniors and families. We help connect seniors and/ or their caregivers with available information and services in our community including: Volunteer Services, Legal Services, Recreation Programs, Financial Services, Housing Options, Food Services, Health Services, Caregiver Programs, Help with forms. We have 13 permanent locations throughout Surrey and White Rock. If you cannot make it out to one of these locations please call us and we can arrange for one of our volunteers to come to you.

• Special Events
Social teas, parties and theme-focused events all provide older adults with an opportunity to do something new and interesting. This challenges everyone to add some spice to their lives contributing experience and knowledge to these activities for a really fun filled time.
